Personal Protection In The Home The course goal is to develop the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to the safe and effective use of a handgun for protection of self and family. We provide information an the law-abiding citizen's right to self-defense. The lessons will include; levels of awareness, responding to a threat, and rules for storing and using a firearm. Also covered in this 2 day class will be common ammunition malfunctions, defensive accuracy, fundamentals of pistol marksmanship, elements of a good shooting position, cover vs. concealment, and point shooting. You will learn about the stages of emotion after a violent encounter, and factors to consider when choosing a defensive handgun. Range time is provided. 200 to 300 rounds of ammunition is required. Recommended calibers are .38 9mm, 40S&W, or 45ACP / GAP. Cost for the class is $80 per student.
